The President of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Tanzania Chapter, Mr. Peter Kisa Baziwe, has presented an award to Vodacom Tanzania, commending the company for its proactive approach in safeguarding digital infrastructure and regularly deploying qualified professionals to audit and secure its systems.
The recognition took place during ISACA’s annual conference, held in Arusha, where Vodacom was honoured for its outstanding commitment to protecting customer data and maintaining robust Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems.
Speaking during the award presentation on June 11, 2025, Mr. Baziwe noted that while many professionals are capable of building ICT systems, not all possess the skills necessary to secure them against cyber threats targeting sensitive data.
“We applaud Vodacom for leading in this crucial area. As professionals, we remain committed to protecting personal data for the benefit of our country, our institutions, and our families, especially as we continue to adapt to a rapidly evolving digital landscape,” said Mr. Baziwe.
He also emphasized ISACA’s ongoing efforts to equip its members with the skills needed to embrace technological advancements and confront emerging challenges with confidence and expertise.
Receiving the award on behalf of Vodacom, the company’s Director of ICT, Mr. Athumani Mlinga, expressed appreciation to ISACA and reaffirmed Vodacom’s commitment to cybersecurity and customer data privacy.
“As a leading communications provider, Vodacom prioritizes data protection and cybersecurity,” said Mr. Mlinga. “We have partnered with institutions such as the University of Dar es Salaam’s ICT College to strengthen digital skills in network security and contribute to a safer online environment.”
