Former Tanzanian Ambassador to Cuba, Humphrey Polepole, has reported that unknown individuals invaded his sister’s home on July 17, 2025. The incident occurred as Polepole, who resigned from his post on July 13, 2025, is preparing to hold a press conference today, July 18, 2025.

“At around 11:00 PM, my elder sister called my mother and told her that some people had jumped over the wall and entered her home. She lives in Bahari Beach. They came up to the house and told her they were there for information,” Polepole explained in a video he posted on his Instagram page.

“Since that time, around 11:00 PM, my sister’s phone has not been answered. We tried to go to the house, and people saw vehicles there — there were Land Cruisers, there was a Noah, which were in the vicinity of the house at that time and afterward,” he added.

“And there were other people seen who were not my relatives. Because my sister lives alone, they were opening the gate, going in and out, and after a while, returning again. I wanted to say — I don’t live with my sister, and if someone is looking for me, my phone numbers are available,” clarified Polepole, who also stated that he will address the public today at 11:00 AM as planned.

Polepole resigned on Sunday, citing a loss of faith in the current administration. In the video addressing the incident involving his sister, Polepole highlighted that such occurrences are part of the reason why he chose to step down.
