Opposition party ACT Wazalendo has reported that its Youth Wing Leader, Abdul Nondo, was abducted today, December 1, 2024, at the Magufuli Bus Stand, where he was arriving from Kigoma.

“Witnesses of the incident say there was commotion during Nondo’s abduction, which led to his bag being left behind,” reads a statement issued by Mbarala Maharagande, the party’s Deputy Secretary for Human Rights Issues.

The party added that two officials, Monalisa Ndala, and Wiston Mogha, rushed to the Magufuli Bus Stand and confirmed Nondo’s abduction using items left behind, including his bag of clothes and a notebook.

Nondo had been in Kigoma to mobilize support for the party during the recently concluded local government elections, in which CCM was declared the winner with a 99% victory in various positions.

ACT Wazalendo has called for police intervention to ensure that Nondo is released safely and unharmed.
