The murder case involving over twenty Maasai from Loliondo was on Thursday postponed at the Arusha Resident Magistrate’s Court as the investigation of the case was incomplete. The hearing of the case is now pushed to July 14, 2022.
It is believed that the case is connected with the murder of a police officer in Ngorongoro.
Over 400 Maasai people have crossed from Tanzania to Kenya since the crisis began in Loliondo a few days ago.
It wants the government to end the security operation immediately and suspend any land acquisition plans until the community has given their free, prior and informed consent in genuine consultations.
